What a Week! In Two Words - DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE

Rivalry vs. Mira Mesa was awesome. Our freshmen walked away with a 27-0 victory. Our JV won 55-0. And our varsity went across the freeway to take the "Battle of the 15" trophy with a 17-7 victory. Here are a few highlights from Friday's game.

Carter Foss led the team with 10 tackles as our defense shutout it's third opponent (Mira Mesa's seven points came from an interception returned for a touchdown). In four games, our defense has only given up 10 points (2.5 points per game).

Led by defensive coordinator John Taylor, they are dialed in and leading the team each week with amazing performances. DID YOU KNOW? Coach Taylor is a long time Scripps Ranch resident, but he teaches at Mira Mesa High School and was the previous defensive coordinator for the football team. That made the defensive shutout even more sweet.

Our Falcons were all over the media this week, bringing attention to our program, our school and our community.

Quarterback Luke Durkin, running back Nicholas Gardinera and Coach G were interviewed on 97.3 The Fan on Thursday, September 12, 2019.

Chick-Fil-A, a sponsor and snack bar operator held an AMAZING event and fundraiser in support our the Battle of the 15 Rivalry on Thursday, bringing Scripps Ranch HS and Mira Mesa HS together. Watch KUSI's coverage of what will be an annual tradition.

Scripps Ranch's very own Mekhi Shaw was KUSI's STUDENT/Athlete Spotlight for the week. Check out our 2018 Most Valuable Player, All-City League, UT-Scholar Athlete on KUSI.
