WHAT A SPECIAL NIGHT

Updated: Jan 16

The #FalconFootballFamily recognized the Brandon Byrnes and Family, and our Seniors on the way to a league championship.

When we say #FalconFootballFamily, we mean it. So when one of our own is down, our family and amazing community steps up. On Friday, October 27th the Scripps Ranch High School football team (7-3) hosted Mission Bay High School for the City League Championship, but football was not the priority. Brandon Byrnes (#7) was the most important football player on Senior Night. Watch the story from KUSI's Prep Pigskin Report.

We also celebrated the rest of the senior class, with families walking through the tunnel sharing messages about their time at Scripps Ranch HS. But one message stood out from all the rest. It was from Brandon's family.

Regrettably, Brandon is unable to be here in person tonight to celebrate this special occasion with all his teammates, coaches, and family.
Brandon has been in the ICU at Rady's Hospital for a month now and is currently in the biggest game of his life, and battling what is likely to be the toughest opponent he will ever face. And in true Falcon Spirit, HE WILL PREVAIL. In his honor, his family has provided this message of gratitude and hope.
“I'm so grateful to have had so many amazing experiences with all of my friends, teammates, mentors, and family during my high school years.
Each and every one of you has contributed to my core beliefs, shaped my foundational outlook, and have supported me through lifes opportunities and challenges.
Thank you Mom for always feeding me, clothing me, and educating me (academically and spiritually) and always being right there at my side, especially now. You da best music!
Thank you Dad for initially coaching and teaching me, and then later for trying to keep up with me… on the fields, on the mountain, in the water, and all manner of other endeavors (despite all of your gimpy ailments).
Thank you Kaylin for being my best friend. You and I have shared so much through life and I truly value your strength, love, and never ending positivity. Your smile brightens any room and I can’t wait to see you again.
Thank you Grampy for being my #1 fan. You have been to every sporting event I have ever had. Thank you to everyone else in my family and community for making me the man I am today.
Lastly, thank you to my dog Barty Bart, for always wrestling with me and letting me be just a kid when life gets too serious.
My advice to all of you is to energetically and passionately embrace each moment, each day, and every interaction. I'm confident that my walk with God, my family, and my friends will deliver me from my current experience and start me on my next journey along with all of you.
#7 Strong"

Emotions ran high throughout the pregame ceremony, but the team did hit the field playing for #7. In the end, Scripps Ranch defeated Mission Bay 20-13 winning it's third league championship in school history. The team is now headed into the CIF playoffs. As the #4 seed the Falcon have a bye this week and will play the winner of Pt. Loma vs. San Pasqual match up. Your Falcons will be at home for the quarterfinals on Friday, November 10th at 7 pm.

When we return to the field we are going to continue to show our support for the entire Byrnes family. Join us in your 2023 League Champions / Brandon Brynes - B-Strong shirt.
