I am so, so sorry I couldn't be at the JV/Freshmen banquet. I really am. I spent that night in the hospital, but I am okay. Many of you saw me on campus today (Tuesday). But I really wanted to be there to tell you how proud I am of both teams.
I'll be honest, the only thing keeping me sane after the loss in the championship is how good our JV is and what that means for the future of the Falcon Football Family. We will get back to the championship and our JV is going to take us there. Congratulations on a great year. I look forward to screaming at all of you next year.
And to the freshmen. If I had to describe you all in one word, it would be "fun." You have been an absolute blast. From Tom Brady's (I mean Jax's) smile to the Gingers, to the general manager/coach/trainer/team captain/linebacker/running back/hardest working freshmen I've ever seen, Brady Durkin, who, by the way, I will be presenting a very special award at the varsity banquet for making freshmen football happen this year, single-handedly. You too make our future bright. You are a great group and I look forward to screaming at you too.
Our coaches know how I feel about them, so I will just send a heartfelt thank you for helping us build young men into leaders who understand hard work, commitment, how to deal with adversity and how to be a team. They will be better men because of you.
To our team managers, you are selfless wonders. And your contribution to our success as a program is amazing. Same goes for our cheerleaders and Trisha Battaglia. They take care of our boys and we are grateful.
And finally, to our parents. Thank you for sharing your children with us. They really are a joy. They stink, but they are awesome. Thank you all for your support. Keep it coming. We are going to take these boys on a ride they will never forget.
And to the moms who put this on. Thank you. Thank you for helping us end the season together as a family, the Falcon Football Family.
