The 2021 Cal-Hi California Coach of the Year and founder of Program Builders, Coach Gardinera is a transformational head coach motivated by his two sons, surviving a terminal diagnosis, and death.  Driven to help student-athletes achieve, Coach G has created a culture of excellence on and off the field in what was a perpetual underperforming football program.

His program is now a thriving model of success on the field, earning its first California state championships in 2021, the only public school to win a premier division.   In the classroom, using #SCHOOLFIRST, his team's GPA is 3.74.

And don't forget Coach G and his son Nicholas' role in the Let Them Play California movement and their lawsuit against the State of California, and Gov. Gavin Newsom which lifted harsh Covid restrictions and brought sports back to 2.8 million high school and youth sports participants in the Spring of 2021.
